We just need to briefly look at what are white skinny jeans, their history and where they fit into the fashion of today.
Skinny jeans are, as the name implies designed to make you look thin, maybe even thinner than you actually are. They are often called slim fit pants for the same reason. They are different to drainpipe jeans as they taper near the bottom of the leg instead of just go down straight which makes them much less baggy. In fact there is sometimes a zip at the bottom to help people actually put jeans on over their feet.
A few other names that people call them are skinny pants, cigarette pants, skinnies, pencil pants, stovepipes plus a few others. All the examples stress the tightness of the fit.
This jeans fashion originated back in the 1950s and Elvis Presley was one of the first people to wear them in public and make a big fashion statement. In fact they were possibly a main factor in rock and roll getting the bad boy image that it still has to a certain extent.
Since then for many years they were always very closely aligned to music in some way. Country music stars dressed in them as well as lots of famous bands including the Beatles. They were the chosen fashion of the teddy boys who were the baddies and were completely different to the flower power clothes which the goodies wore.
Some people used to pull black skinny jeans on and then get into a bath of water so that they would shrink them to make them fit even tighter. This was the urge to get them as tight as possible.
This fashion faded from a lot of the music scene a little in the 1990s where people tended to favour the more baggy jeans which have always been around but worn for more practical reasons rather than as a style statement.
They have become popular again in the 2000s mainly led through indie bands which has led to them again becoming a vey popular piece of clothing. They are one of the few fashion accessories which are as popular with men as to women. Other from black, you can now get them in many sizes and colours.
However, skinny jeans do not suit all. It is fair to mention that if a person is of the fuller figure to begin with, putting them on will not look good. A person has to be fairly skinny first.
The same applies to what you wear them with. It might be an idea to wear a baggier top to counteract the effect out somewhat. Tucking them into long boots looks good and this makes you seem taller than you actually are. If you are already tall and skinny, the world is your oyster. You will look great in anything with your white skinny jeans.
